HONOR Teases WIN Pad With 240Hz OLED Gaming Display

The small-screen gaming race just got a lot faster. HONOR has started teasing the WIN Pad, a compact gaming tablet built around an OLED display with a refresh rate rated above 200Hz — and if one well-known leaker is right, the real number is a full 240Hz.

The details arrived through a promotional video and a set of posts on Weibo from HONOR executives. Lin Lin, head of HONOR China’s Smart Life business, confirmed the tablet runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the same flagship chip powering rival devices like Lenovo’s Legion Y700 AI. The teaser also showed the WIN Pad in landscape orientation: slim bezels, rounded corners, a punch-hole camera, and black and silver finishes.

HONOR’s own promo video went one step further on the headline number, officially promising a refresh rate “over 200Hz.” The exact figure hasn’t been confirmed by the company, but tipster Digital Chat Station — who has a solid track record on this kind of hardware — reports the panel measures about 8.4 inches and hits 240Hz. Earlier leaks also point to a built-in active cooling fan and a battery in the 10,000mAh range, both unusual for a tablet this size and both signs that this thing is built for sustained play, not just burst benchmarks.

If the 240Hz figure holds, the WIN Pad would leave its closest competition far behind. Lenovo’s Legion Y700 AI (2026) — arguably the device to beat in this class — pairs the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip with a 165Hz OLED panel. The compact gaming tablet field is suddenly crowded: iQOO’s Pad Ultra shipped September 29 with a 165Hz screen, and a rumored iPad mini 8 may top out at just 60Hz or 120Hz. A 240Hz panel would be more than a spec-sheet flex; in lighter competitive titles and fast-paced games that support high frame rates, a screen this fast genuinely changes how a game feels.

There are caveats worth keeping. A 240Hz panel doesn’t mean every game will run at 240 frames per second — GPU limits, thermals, and a game’s own frame-rate caps still decide what actually reaches the screen. And the leaker himself has questioned whether the fan can keep the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 cool through long sessions. Reports also suggest the WIN Pad may ship in a Wi-Fi-only version with no 5G option, plus a single USB-C port and no cellular connectivity.

Pricing and availability remain unannounced. The tablet is expected to launch in October alongside the HONOR WIN 2 smartphone series, and it’s already listed on HONOR’s Chinese storefront. International availability is still an open question.

HONOR is betting that in the compact gaming tablet wars, the number you feel in your hands matters most. A 240Hz display in a pocketable form factor is an aggressive swing — if the price lands right, the rest of the field may have to answer.
